Family Life Center Comprehensive Services
St. Francis Medical Center is here when you need us for life’s most special moments. We deliver nearly 3,000 babies every year and we have a Level III NICU, ensuring that you and your family receive expert care while welcoming a new baby into your home. Our Family Life Center offers warm and comfortable private rooms, special amenities, and complete obstetrical care.
Bonding and Breast/Chestfeeding
We promote skin-to-skin time with your newborn and encourage breast-feeding/chestfeeding to help you build that special bond with your baby. We have a designated daily Quiet Time that provides an uninterrupted period each day for you and your baby to snuggle or rest. We also have experienced lactation educators to assist you in breast-feeding/chestfeeding your little one, which helps you form a strong bond that sets the foundation for a healthy childhood for your baby.

Personalized Services
The childbirth journey is a remarkable and deeply personal experience for every woman. That is why we provide you with individualized attention and nurturing care throughout your stay, including these special services:
Celebratory Meal – Following the birth of your baby, you and your support person are treated to your choice of a celebration lunch or dinner. The meal includes delicious menu options for you to enjoy and to help you feel renewed.
Concierge Service – You can make requests for food, housekeeping, pain management, and more right from your smart phone or tablet via the QR code provided to you upon admission. A member of your care team will respond shortly. This 24/7 service is available for patients and their support person and family members too.

Parking and Directions
We offer free parking for your support person at the time of your delivery. Once you are admitted for your baby’s birth, please have your support person notify our team at the Family Life Center front desk. They will assist with parking. The Family Life Center building is located on the corner of Imperial Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Expectant Parents Welcome Session and Family Life Center Tour
Please join us for one of our Welcome Sessions and Family Life Center tours. We will introduce you to members of our Family Life Center team, provide you with information about our hospital, share linkages to education and resources, and give you the opportunity to ask questions and complete your pre-registration.
St. Francis Medical Center is a Welcome Baby participating hospital. Funded by First 5 LA, Welcome Baby offers expectant women in Los Angeles County information, support, and resources during pregnancy, following delivery, and up through the baby’s first critical months. The program’s goal is to strengthen and support Los Angeles County neighborhoods and families by providing resources and access to activities that support the care, development, and well-being of pregnant women, new parents, and their babies.
