St. Francis Medical Center is a Welcome Baby participating hospital. Funded by First 5 LA, Welcome Baby offers expectant women in Los Angeles County information, support, and resources during pregnancy, following delivery, and up through the baby’s first critical months. The program’s goal is to strengthen and support Los Angeles County neighborhoods and families by providing resources and access to activities that support the care, development, and well-being of pregnant women, new parents, and their babies.

Child Car Seat – Keeping Your Newborn Safe
When it is time to take your newborn home, we want to make sure your baby continues to stay safe. California law requires that all children under the age of 2 are secured in a rear-facing car seat when traveling in a vehicle. To learn more about car seat requirements, types of car seats, and how to correctly install a car seat and properly buckle in your baby, the California Highway Patrol has information and a video available on its website.
