Lawrence “Larry” Barnard has been named CEO of St. Francis Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare (Ontario, Calif.). Barnard joins St. Francis with more than 14 years of health care leadership and operations experience in for-profit, not-for-profit and university settings.

Most recently, Barnard served for three years as the Nevada Market President for CommonSpirit Health. In this leadership role, he oversaw three acute care hospitals, four micro hospitals, a rehabilitation hospital and outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, an ambulance company, and a medical group. Prior to serving as Nevada Market President, for five years Barnard was the President of St. Rose Dominican Hospital – San Martín Campus, a member hospital of Dignity Health in Las Vegas. Earlier in his career, Barnard held various healthcare leadership positions in Nevada, Southern California and South Carolina, in addition to serving as a Captain in the United States Army.

Larry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the United States Military Academy, West Point and a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.
