City of Lynwood Breast Cancer Proclamation 2024
City of Lynwood Breast Cancer Proclamation 2024

In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the City of Lynwood recognized St. Francis Medical Center for the services it provides to help prevent and detect breast cancer and for its commitment to raising breast cancer awareness.  Mayor Jose Solache and the council members presented St. Francis with a proclamation at the October 15, 2024, city council meeting citing St. Francis as one of the first hospitals to offer 3D digital mammography to the community.  This technology provides superior accuracy compared to two-dimensional tests and helps deliver a more accurate diagnosis for breast cancer detection.

Last year the hospital performed 627 mammography exams through its Women’s Imaging Center, and the medical center continues to raise awareness in new ways.  The healthcare team celebrated its first annual Pink Day in support of October National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Breast Cancer educational information was shared, and pink ribbon lapel pins and pink frosted sugar cookies were passed out to staff and visitors.

St. Francis Medical Center Chief Financial Officer Terri Pasion proudly accepted the City Proclamation on behalf of the hospital.  She expressed her thanks for the partnership we have with the City of Lynwood to promoting the health and well-being of residents throughout the community.  She along with the council members affirmed that awareness leads to action and to lives saved.
